The attached Resource Map summarizes the various District workforce-related resources that were available during the Fiscal Year 2003 project. The purpose of the resource mapping initiative was to identify and track the usage of various workforce-related resources that are critical components of the workforce investment system. The Resource Mapping initiative summarized the programs, funding sources, and in some cases, target populations that are provided services under DC's workforce investment system. To design effective initiatives, it is critical to define and understand the District’s workforce investment system in relationship to  key growth industry sectors and to identify the process for transitioning students and job seekers who require basic and employability skill development prior to being job-ready.
